FAQ

What should I expect?

Adventure, beautiful scenery, and a whole lot of fun, with plenty of great photo opportunities and maybe a few really cool facts about the area you’re enjoying. There is always a chance of extended sun exposure, rain, water spray and “bumpy” conditions on the water; so be ready for it–it’s a blast, but do check out “What should I bring” below to come prepared!

What should I bring?

You should plan on wearing outdoor clothing (preferably quick-dry shorts/pants/shirt; cotton is not recommended), shoes or sandals that will remain fastened to your feet, a hat/hat clip, sunscreen, sunglasses and sunglasses retainer, a camera (to capture our beautiful scenery!), a towel, a change of clothes for after the ride (in case you get wet!) and a day pack for your personal gear. Storage space is limited on the boat, so please try to keep your pack size to a minimum–a standard-size back pack or gallon Ziploc bag is about right. You are welcome to bring snacks and non-alcoholic drinks of your choice. A small cooler will be on board the boat, but please do not bring any glass. Lastly, come excited and bring an awesome attitude!

What is supplied?

Standard tours include your USCG licensed Captain, Zodiac rigid inflatable boat with fuel, safety equipment, life jackets and complimentary bottled water. While our boat is factory-rated to carry 14 people or 2800 lbs safely, Fry’s Cruising Zodiac expeditions accommodate 6 passengers maximum for comfort and licensure compliance. Feel free to bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages—a small cooler is available for some extra drinks; however, please refrain from bringing glass. Alcohol and drugs are not permitted, so please do not bring any with you.
A sober ride is a safe and enjoyable ride—for you, your Captain and your fellow passengers!

Is this tour safe?

Fry’s Cruising operates every expedition with the highest regard to passenger safety.
We provide an adventurous ride, not a thrill ride.

Our Zodiac inflatable boat is extremely stable and unsinkable. Due to its exceptional design, it won’t capsize (flip over), nor will it pop. And, if we take on any spray or rain (that’s part of the adventure!), it’s equipped with large automatic self-bailing drains to allow water to evacuate the boat as quickly as it enters. You will be amazed with the boat’s stability and how fun it is to ride!

The boat is fully equipped with all required USCG safety gear (and then some). To further ensure safety, Fry’s Cruising requires every passenger to wear a life jacket at all times. Automatic inflatable life jackets will be provided to you for the duration of each expedition, and are very comfortable to wear; going unnoticed once you put them on.

Your Captain is also a very proficient boat operator with over 10,000 miles handling Zodiac inflatable boats, and is both a swift water- and an instant rescue boat instructor for commercial operators and government agencies. No doubt you’ll be in good hands—your safety is our number one priority and having fun is number two, so join us for an adventure of a lifetime!

Is this ride for me?

Our goal is to share one of the most amazing natural sights the Pacific Northwest has to offer through an exhilarating boating adventure. For your safety, we require everyone on board to wear a life jacket, which will be provided to you during each tour. These life jackets are US Coast Guard-approved personal flotation devices and are extremely comfortable to wear. Due to the USCG restrictions of these life jackets, all passengers must be at least 16 years of age (minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian), more than 80 lbs and with chest sizes 30″-52″. If your chest is not within this size range, please contact us as we may still be able to accommodate you.

Fry’s Cruising expeditions may also include strenuous physical activity; therefore our expeditions may not be for everyone. River conditions can become choppy, which can make for a super fun, yet “bumpy” ride. All passengers sit on the boat‘s tubes and hold onto rope lifelines to remain on the boat. This requires each passenger to not have any physical or medical condition which prevents or limits his/her ability to engage in these activities.
Please contact us before booking an expedition if you have any questions or concerns with any of the above information.

What is the payment / cancellation policy?

We require a full payment at the time of booking in order to guarantee you a seat on the boat. This payment is refundable up to 48 hours before the meeting time of each tour. Payments are not refundable within 48 hours of your tour. No-shows will be charged the full price. Due to rapid changes in the weather, Fry’s Cruising LLC reserves the right to cancel a tour if we feel the weather or water conditions are too rough or unsatisfactory for a safe ride. In this case, we will refund your payment and or will gladly re-book you for another date.

What’s the “the fine print”?

We wish we didn’t have to, but “our people” require every passenger to fill out and submit a liability form waiver prior to boarding the boat. Consequently, you agree that Fry’s Cruising LLC shall not be held liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of any service. We travel in potentially rough or hazardous waters, and all tours are at your own risk. Our Zodiac Expeditions do require some physical activity and fitness level. Please listen carefully and follow Captain and crew instructions for your safety on board. We reserve the right to modify, discontinue or change any vessel or tour. We reserve the right, at the discretion of the Captain and/or for safety reasons, to change routing from tour description dependent on river and weather conditions.
